By CJ Blaze This week’s NXT was action-packed. The Shield was in action, we had a diva’s tag team match, and William Regal returned to in-ring competition! Percy Watson, Scott Dawson, and Axl Keegan vs. The Shield The Shield dominated most of the match, as many would expect. Watson has fallen off of the radar ever since NXT became the developmental territory. Dawson and Keegan have been seen fighting a few times as heels. Winners: The Shield -The Shield cut a promo, and Corey Graves appeared on the tron to challenge a member of the group to a match. Next week: Rollins vs. Graves in a Lumberjack match.

By Carson Koschik Well, WrestleMania has come and gone this year and it was underwhelming to say the least. Although the even featured some great matches, the lack of surprises and failure to introduce any new developments made 'Mania feel like any other PPV. A terrible main event didn't help either. Well, it's time to highlight the best of the best of the PPV with our Smarky Awards! Best Feud Winner: Undertaker vs. CM Punk In what was probably the most controversial feud in the past few years, CM Punk stole the recently deceased Paul Bearer's urn from the Undertaker and proceeded to do some of the most heely things many fans have ever seen. This includes dropping the urn, doing Paul Bearer impressions, and worst of all, dumping Paul Bearer's "ashes" all over the Undertaker and proceeding the lick them off his hand. Yep, it was pretty bad. But when I say bad, I mean heel bad. Yes, that's a good thing. Even though the winner of their WrestleMania match was pretty predictable, the build-up was extremely captivating and gave us one hell of a memorable feud. By Rick Velazquez This photograph may not mean anything since it is the Hall of Fame and many superstars who are no longer with the company show up to support the inductees. However, Rob Van Dam has made it public that he is a free agent and no longer under contract with TNA Wrestling. The former TNA talent lost the X-Division championship to Kenny King back in February. With WrestleMania just hours away, the WWE may be on the verge of signing “The Whole Fn’ Show” to a new contract as soon as possible. The Main Event scene for Raw, post-WrestleMania, seems very unsettling at this moment, since CM Punk is believed to be planning to take time off after Sunday, and The Rock will not work full time whether he beats Cena or not. WWE’s roster will seem weak after WrestleMania 29 concludes, due to the absence of Triple H, Brock Lesnar, and The Undertaker. It would be a smart decision to have RVD perhaps re-sign and be in the main event scene throughout much of the Spring and Summer. Now would be the perfect time to see the return of Mr. Monday Night. At this point, nothing is sure and the picture could mean nothing more than a friendly visit to Booker T, his former tag team partner, or Mick Foley on their special night. However, this business thrives on the famous cliché, “Never say never.” So, don’t be surprised if you hear the lyrics, “One of a Kind” on WWE programming soon. By Graham "GSM" Matthews Entertaining match with Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez defeating Austin Aries and Bobby Roode to win the TNA World Tag Team Championships. The first two falls were over with rather quickly and were a bit of a disappointment, but the third fall was much more fun to get to. Aries and Roode went to all lengths to retain their titles while Chavo and Hernandez battled back nicely. I'm not in favor of the title change, but I guess it was necessary since there aren't any other face tag teams in the division right now. I'm intrigued as to where Aries and Roode go from here. Brief match with Taryn Terrell defeating Gail Kim. The match was only mere minutes long, but that was probably the smartest move since Terrell is somewhat limited in the ring. That being said, she competed just fine in the time she was allotted and Kim only enhanced that. I was glad Terrell scored the upset victory, but I hope this doesn't mark the end of this feud, as it's been very well-booked thus far. |
