By Graham "GSM" Matthews Bray Wyatt Interrupted John Cena After his disappointment of a match against Wyatt at WrestleMania, you'd think Cena would take a more serious approach in his promos. Just because he beat Wyatt at the event doesn't mean he go back to being campy and corny. Him recapping the wild week in wrestling was fun, but unnecessary, hence why Wyatt's interruption was welcome. I loved how Wyatt completely brushed off the loss and continued to taunt Cena anyway. I'm fine with keeping this feud alive if only because it was so well done prior to 'Mania, but here's hoping they don't lose their way with it now that Cena has already overcome his nemesis. Cesaro def. Big Show by Disqualification While they worked a good match, it was slow paced for the most part and many fans were just waiting to see if Cesaro would hit the Swing on Show. Jack Swagger interrupting the match was only logical and it was smart to save the finish for another day. However, it was still very cool to see Cesaro hit an extremely impressive Neutralizer on Show. It's hard to tell what Cesaro is at the moment. He's feuding with Swagger, but has a heel manager in Paul Heyman, so perhaps he's tweener?

By Graham "GSM" Matthews Ryback def. Dolph Ziggler It's sad to think that Ryback and Ziggler were two of the biggest focal points of last night's post-WrestleMania episode of Raw, and one year year later, they find themselves fighting on the Superstars taping. That being said, this had to be the best Superstars match I've seen in quite some time. Remember, this show was filmed in front of the red hot New Orleans crowd from Monday's Raw and they were heavily behind Ziggler in this match. The hilarious for Curtis Axel at ringside were hilarious. Only time you'll ever hear that! Anyway, the match was very well wrestled and they worked a great, fun pace. It's odd that Ziggler has been losing lately given the roll he was on prior to 'Mania, but I guess it all depends whether he's on the good or bad side of management each week. Titus O'Neil def. Kofi Kingston After the awesome opener between Ryback and Kingston, this match managed to fall flat. While O'Neil has great charisma, he is still a work in progress in the ring. Not even Kingston, an excellent worker, could lead him to a good match here. It was clunky at times and they never seemed to find a rhythm before the bout prematurely ended. It was a big win for O'Neil, sure, but how much does it really mean when any momentum O'Neil may have had has been destroyed since his split from Darren Young? By Graham "GSM" Matthews Adam Rose def. Danny Burch If Rose's awesome entrance doesn't at least make you crack a smile, there is something wrong with you. In all seriousness, this was much of the same from Rose. The crowd is absolutely into him, but his matches are no more than a few minutes long and don't feature anything we haven't seen before. I love the character and all, but I'd like to see some sort of direction or development with him soon. Luckily, that appears to be in motion since the re-debuting Camacho (who I didn't even recognize at first) called him out backstage. Bayley def. Sasha Banks These two always work well together and have good matches, but it lacks story. They are better than probably half of the women wrestlers on the main roster, but like the Divas, their matches don't have much meaning. Bayley beat Banks again, so what now? Summer Rae appears to be on the main roster for good and now Paige looks to be joining her. Hopefully they can bring in some new talent to NXT to fill out the women's division with all the call-ups. By Graham "GSM" Matthews Eric Young Won a 10-Man Gauntlet No. 1 Contender's Match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship The match was basic brawling early on and a bit distracting with no one eliminated, but the action intensified down the stretch. I can't say any of it had me on the edge of my seat, but everyone involved played their part well and several feuds were furthered here. Say what you will about his credibility, but Magnus is a natural on the mic and thus his spot on commentary was a nice touch. There was some good suspense at the end with Young and Abyss, though it was obvious Young would win. His confrontation with MVP was well done and the announcement of the title match happening later in the night gave viewers something to look forward to for later in the show. Angelina Love def. Gail Kim, Brittany and ODB in a No. 1 Contender's Fatal 4-Way for the Knockouts Championship It made no sense for Love to go through a No. 1 contender's match to get her title shot after beating the champion just a few short weeks ago, but the match was decent enough. Everyone put forth a nice effort and was one of the better Knockouts matches in recent memory. Granted, it didn't last long and probably should have been given more time, but it was your typical four way with a logical finish of Love going over. |
