#AskGSM Edition #229: 2018 Superstar Shake-up Recap, Drew McIntyre, Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz, More4/18/2018 #AskGSM is a weekly Q&A video where I, Graham "GSM" Matthews answer fan questions from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in regards to the world of wrestling. Nothing is off limits, and this week’s edition touches upon a variety of topics including:

Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae Addressed the AudienceGargano finally showing a smile here after exacting revenge on Tommaso Ciampa at TakeOver: New Orleans was a cool sight. He cut a pretty straightforward promo after vanquishing Ciampa and wanting to do the same with Andrade "Cien" Almas and Zelina Vega in the night's main event pitting LeRae against Vega. He also teased wanting to re-enter the NXT Championship picture, and it was later revealed he will challenge new champ Aleister Black for the belt on next week's show. Ricochet def. Fabian AicnherAichner always impresses no matter who's in the ring with and this outing was no exception. It's a shame he's usually positioned as an enhancement talent, but at least he looks good in defeat. That said, this was all about Ricochet with this being his in-ring debut on NXT TV. His offense was exciting and his finisher is fantastic. He'll be a big star on NXT in no time.
Hiromu Takahashi def. ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion Frankie KazarianUnless I missed something, the commentators never acknowledged that Takahashi used to be buddies in storyline with The Addiction, and that was only a year and a half ago. What's crazy is that Takahashi has turned into a much bigger star than Kazarian in his time away from Ring of Honor, so the crowd was solidly behind him here. This was a nice little matchup and I wonder if Takahashi's victory sets him up for a future ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship shot. The Young Bucks Won an ROH World Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contender's Tag Team Gauntlet MatchBeer City Bruiser and Brian Milonas attacked Coast to Coast backstage beforehand, so they took on only one member of the team and beat him fairly quickly. They also defeated The Dawgs before falling to The Motor City Machine Guns. The early goings of this Gauntlet were decent, but it really didn't pick up until it the Bucks and the Guns went at it and delivered an awesome mini-matchup. They've always worked well together and their encounter here was no exception. They should have closed this thing out, because although the Bucks had a good outing against The Kingdom, the crowd wasn't quite as hot for them as they were for the Bucks and the Guns. Still, the Bucks vs. The Briscoes for the ROH World Tag Team Championship should be great.
Mustafa Ali def. Ariya DaivariOn an unrelated note, the gear Ali wore at WrestleMania and then again for this match looked awesome. Anyway, this was a solid, well-wrestled match between Ali and Daivari. It allowed Ali to bounce back from his loss at WrestleMania and once again establish himself as a viable contender to the Cruiserweight Championship. That said, Daivari bores me to tears, so his involvement in this took away from my enjoyment of it ever so slightly. The Brian Kendrick and Gentleman JAck Gallagher def. Local AthletesKendrick was out injured a lot longer than I thought he would be, but I'm glad he's back inside the ring at long last. I assume they're being groomed for the eventual tag team titles coming to 205 Live, and along with the Lucha House Party, they should be the front-runners to become the inaugural champs. This was a fairly effective squash to show that they're a threat, but they should have won a minute or two quicker than they did.
