The following was sent in by Elkmania promoter Atlee Greene: BEVERLY, MA, September 23, 2017 - Professional wrestling returns to the Beverly/Salem Elks Lodge on Saturday, September 23 for the fifth installment of our preeminent event, ELKMANIA 5. Doors open at 6:00 PM. Special bell time is at 6:35 PM. Tickets are $10.00 in advance and are on sale at Silver Moon Comics & Collectibles located inside of the Museum Place Mall, Salem, MA. Tickets will be available at the door for $12.00. Creative Salem members will get two dollars off their admission at the door. The main event will feature Salem’s own Derek Simonetti challenging “Bitter” Buddy Romano for the Bay State Championship in an “I Quit” Match. One year ago, Buddy Romano announced his retirement from wrestling and surrendered the championship, after he was ordered to defend the belt against Derek Simonetti. Simonetti went on to win the title and defended it with honor against all comers. Highway robbery occurred at historic Fenway Park in July when Romano shockingly came out of retirement and regained the title in a four-way match, however, he never pinned Simonetti. This first-time encounter features the only two men to ever hold the coveted title. Adding to the evening’s action will see as “The Gentleman” Burke Beckett puts his luscious locks on the line against the goat with the most, Freakin Flax in a ‘Mask vs. Hair match. “The Maniacal” Jack Krueger will defend the All-Star Title in an open challenge and so much more! ElkMania 5 promises to be a night that you don’t want to miss! All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Elks National Foundation which helps youth develop lifelong skills, sends students to college, meets the needs of veterans and supports charitable works in the community.

#AskGSM is a weekly Q&A video where I, Graham "GSM" Matthews (and special guest Noah Wade) answer fan questions from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in regards to the world of wrestling. Nothing is off limits, and this week’s edition touches upon a variety of topics including:
Bully Ray and The Brisoces def. The Kingdom in an ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contender's MatchConsidering the winners had to wrestle again later in the night, this was perfectly slotted as the opener because it was very fun. Bully Ray and The Brisoces were out for revenge after everything The Kingdom has done to them in recent weeks, but lest we forget it was Bully and The Briscoes who beat them for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship earlier this year (albeit in a Handicap match because TK O'Ryan was hurt). Speaking of O'Ryan, he teased doing the same move that he injured his leg on in the first place, only to flip off the fans, which was brilliant. Although the babyfaces won, more tension was teased with Jay Briscoe and Bully leading into the title match. Marty Scurll def. Chuck TaylorThe commentators noted that this marked Taylor's singles debut for ROH, and I really hope we see more of him going forward because he is a hell of a talent. For a match that had very little (if any) build-up, this was extremely entertaining and a strong showing from both men. The crowd loved both Taylor and Scurll and was therefore engaged in the action. Scurll is more of a regular than Taylor at this point, so it was logical for him to go over.
Johnny Impact def. KM in a GFW Global Championship No. 1 Contender's MatchI've never been the biggest fan of KM, but I thought he played he played his role well here as a foil for Impact. His mic work wasn't terrible, and Impact's was surprisingly good, too. I say "surprisingly" because he was a pretty poor talker during his time in WWE, but he improved immensely while in Lucha Underground. The subsequent match was short and sweet, even if it's always dumb for the babyface to put their title shot on the line when they don't have to. Taya Valkyrie def. Ava StorieValkyrie can be a huge asset to the Knockouts division if they book her properly, and so far the company has done right by her with these dominant squash matches where she has been able to get over her signature moves. I enjoyed the post-match chaos even more with Valkyrie explaining her motives for being in Lucha Underground before Rosemary, Allie, Gail Kim, Sienna and Taryn Terrell came down and brawled with each other.
