Trent def. Pentagon Jr.We got to see Fenix compete in one-on-one action for the first time in AEW last week on Dynamite and now it was Pentagon's turn on Dark. I've been a big fan of his since the start of Lucha Underground five years ago and I strongly believe he can be a top talent in AEW once The Lucha Brothers go their separate ways. As for Trent, he's a terrific talent in his own right and it's been cool to see him shine in singles competition recently. This was a pretty good match with some fun moments, but Trent going over Pentagon was definitely a questionable call. Shanna def. Big SwoleI like that the women are getting more opportunities to showcase their skills on Dark, but neither Shanna nor Big Swole had the strongest showing here. I loved the video package for Shanna that preceded this, as it gave me more of a reason to care about her, but the actual match left a lot to be desired. The crowd sitting on their hands for most of it was hardly surprising considering neither of them are overly established yet, but they also didn't give them much to get excited about, either.

Eli Drake Addressed NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis and Mr. AndersonThis segment took place at a Championship Wrestling from Hollywood event, where Drake debuted in 2010. Drake was interviewed by David Marquez and talked about having the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship in his sights. He also addressed Anderson, who he's been compared to by fans apparently. I can see the similarities, but Drake vowed he was better and will prove that when they face off at Into the Fire. This was a terrific promo from Drake and a great way to get viewers hyped for him vs. Anderson. ?The Question Mark? def. Zane Dawson in a Mask vs. Shakespeare Empty Arena MatchThis was supposed to be a tag team match with Aron Stevens and Question Mark taking on The Dawsons, but it was changed to Question Mark vs. Zane Dawson one-on-one before the bout. This was a nothing match designed to give Question Mark a victory. I don't get the gimmick aside from how popular he is with the fans, but that was irrelevant here due to being an Empty Arena match. He would have had to unmask if he lost, but because he won, Dawson was forced to recite Shakespeare afterward. In short, this can easily be skipped over.
Natalya def. Sarah LoganLogan's new look makes her look like one of those hippies from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood who has taken a shower in at least a week. In short, I'm not a fan of whatever this gimmick is supposed to be. Natalya doesn't interest me much, either, so I can't say I found this match terribly exciting. It was well wrestled and I liked Logan's intensity, but it was a fairly basic bout otherwise. I assume both of these ladies will go back to trading victories on Main Event now that Survivor Series season is over. No Way Jose def. Eric YoungYoung's pink gear was... interesting. Nothing against the color pink, but it felt like a weird fit for Young, unless he was paying tribute to his fellow Canadian Bret Hart. At any rate, I didn't have high hopes for this, but they wound up surprising me by producing a fun little match. The crowd was into it and they made the most of the time they had. Jose's victory won't amount to anything, of course, but I appreciated that they exceeded expectations.
Seth Rollins Addressed the Raw RosterRollins ran down everyone who represented Raw at Survivor Series and sparred no one. What's funny is that he acted exactly the same way he has on social media and in interviews for months. Crowds have been booing him for a while, so it's great WWE seems to be finally taking the appropriate steps toward turning him heel at long last. It's the role he's most comfortable in. Owens hitting him with a Stunner successfully set them up to do battle later on in the evening. Bobby Lashley def. Titus O'Neil by DisqualificationI honestly forgot O'Neil was a member of the Raw roster. I can't remember the last televised match he had (random Battle Royals aside). Thankfully, the match was a minute long and ended once Rusev interfered. I've wrote many times about how much this storyline with Lashley, Lana and Rusev sucks, but this was the easily the best angle they've run yet. Rusev came across as intense and the crowd was hot for his attack on Lashley.
