By Graham "GSM" Matthews WWE Champion AJ Styles def. James Ellsworth; Baron Corbin Attacked Dolph Ziggler The title match was short, sweet and exactly what it needed to be. They couldn't have drawn this out any longer, and I was happy they got it over with at the start of the show. Styles laying a brutal beating on Ellsworth was a refreshing change of pace for his character and I hope he keeps that aggressive edge going forward. Please let that be the last we see of Ellsworth, though I fear it won't be. As for the face-off between Corbin and Ziggler, I thoroughly enjoyed their heated verbal exchange and Corbin getting involved in the main event mix was long overdue. The crowd chanting "One more time!" after Ziggler received the End of Days from Corbin spoke volumes. Intercontinental Champion The Miz def. Apollo Crews I was thrilled that they followed up on Crews' victory over Miz from Tribute to the Troops last week when they easily could have forgotten about. They had a fun few matches over the summer and this was another entertaining encounter from them. The crowd was engaged in the action much more than I thought they would have been given Crews has been off TV for such a lengthy period of time, so that was a pleasant surprise. Miz verbally burying Renee Young afterward by bringing up her relationship with Dean Ambrose was incredibly well done and it was about damn time they brought that up on TV (I assume it's because they've gone public with it on Total Divas).

By RJ Marceau I know I am not in the minority here when I say Monday Night Raw has been lacking since SummerSlam. The show continues to drag and it has been the same old crap each and every week. I didn’t watch the show live because I didn’t expect the show to be that good since the build has been lackluster. #AskGSM Edition #160: WWE Roadblock 2016 Reaction, European Championship, Royal Rumble Preview, More12/19/2016 By Graham "GSM" Matthews #AskGSM is a weekly Q&A video where I, Graham "GSM" Matthews answer fan questions from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in regards to the world of wrestling. Nothing is off limits, and this week’s edition touches upon a variety of topics including:
By Graham "GSM" Matthews Raw General Manager Mick Foley Confronted WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho On one hand, I'm happy Owens and Jericho are still a thing because they are comedy gold together. On the other hand, did they really need to tease tension yet again only to remain a unit? The past few weeks were a waste then, especially since the Owens vs. Roman Reigns feud is continuing through the Royal Rumble. The first Raw of 2017 would have been a perfect time to hold the rematch; the pay-per-view isn't for another five or six weeks. On the bright side, Owens and Jericho have an awesome chemistry with Foley, so this segment with Jericho getting locked in the cage above the ring had me in stitches. That said, Jericho should have been up in the cage a little longer than he was. Rusev def. Big Cass by Disqualification I can't believe they went with a match that went no more than a minute as the follow-up to their disappointing match on the Kickoff show. I mean, I'm happy they kept it brief and didn't have the match overstay its welcome, but what was even the point? I continue to question how Rusev is the babyface in all of this if he and his wife are bullied by Enzo Amore and Big Cass almost every week both physically and verbally. |
