Hiroshi Tanahashi, Moose, Michael Elgin and Tomoaki Honma def. Bullet Club
I got my hopes up when I heard Bullet Club was in action, but this was merely just the scraps. No offense to those four, but with AJ Styles, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson in WWE, the group has lost a lot of its luster, even with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks at the helm. Despite that, they contested an enjoyable little eight-man tag team match with Tanahashi, Honma, Moose and Elgin. The babyface squad worked well together and while there wasn't any real reason to care about who won, the match was fun for what it was worth with my only gripe with it being that I didn't think it needed to be long as it was.
NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions The Briscoes def. Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson
Well, this was certainly timely with Gallows and Anderson being a hot topic as of late in WWE. Putting two of the best tag teams on the scene today against each other set a high standard, and while it ultimately wasn't the blockbuster bout I expected it to be, it was still a very good matchup. I've really warmed up to the work of Gallows and Anderson and they were a great foil for The Briscoes. This was tag team wrestling at its finest and it made sense to have The Briscoes go over since the Bullet Club members were on their way out, anyway.
Other than the two matches, the rest of the hour was filled with footage of the wrestlers touring Japan and Colt Cabana confronting (and beating) Jay Lethal over WrestleMania weekend to set up their upcoming match at Global Wars. Speaking of which, it still boggles my mind that the last few weeks of TV have been devoted to replaying footage from nearly three months ago and not furthering feuds before the pay-per-view, but at least there was some hype for the event on this show. If the buy rate bombs, they only have themselves to blame.
