Ariya Daivari and The Brian Kendrick def. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch by Disqualification
This made sense coming off Daivari and Kendrick repeated offenses against Burch and Lorcan coming to his aid last week. Unfortunately, the match was largely boring. Lorcan and Burch are great, but not even Kendrick can make Daivari on interesting. They dominated too much of this and the non-finish didn't help matters. Sure, the babyfaces scored a measure of revenge, but that just means the feud isn't over yet. Ugh.
The Singh Brothers def. Joe Furrer & Devon Dixie
I've joked about it before, but I'm seriously starting to think that The Singh Brothers have it written into their WWE contracts that they must appear on almost every episode of 205 Live. The act sucks and they're not good enough in the ring to justify being on more often than not. This was yet another standard squash match from them that I couldn't bring myself to care about in the slightest.
Jordan Devlin def. Tony Nese and Lio Rush in a Triple Threat Match (Non-title)
I know I've ragged a lot on 205 Live lately for matches not making sense and happening for the sake of happening, but there was a little logic behind his bout. The match between Rush and Nese two weeks ago ended in a count-out, so they were able to settle their score here with the new NXT Cruiserweight Champion also involved. It was all action and they managed to get the crowd invested in the nearfalls by the end, so props to them for that. Devlin practically had to win in his first match on 205 Live as champion, but we don't know who will be next in line to challenge him (aside from maybe Angel Garza who hinted at being owed a rematch on Wednesday's NXT).
I love that Lorcan and Burch are back together, but their feud with Daivari and Kendrick does very little for me. The Singh Brothers also make me contemplate turning the show off whenever they appear, but at least the main event was entertaining enough to save this show from being a complete bust. This program needs an influx of new blood in the worst way. Getting Devlin in the Cruiserweight mix is a start, but I maintain that the show would be better off cancelled since the Cruiserweights are already competing on NXT every week, anyway. There is almost no reason for the show to exist at this point.
