Jinder Mahal def. No Way Jose
Perhaps the biggest takeaway from this bout for me was how Mahal was noticeably cheered over Jose. Lest we forget, it was this week one year ago that Jose made his main roster debut and received a pretty good reaction. One year later, however, he's getting booed against Mahal of all people. The post-WrestleMania Raw truly is "Bizarro World," or whatever the hell the commentators call it. As you'd likely expect, this was painfully mediocre.
Heavy Machinery def. The Ascension
I'm a fan of Heavy Machinery, but seeing them go up against Ascension killed me on the inside. I'd argue these teams have no chemistry, but it's not even that; I just can't remember a single match involving The Ascension on the main roster that was any good. Per usual, Ascension's heat segment was boring as all hell, though Heavy Machinery hitting their signature spots popped a portion of the crowd.
I realize this is Main Event (a.k.a. land of the losers), but I honestly expected more from this post-WrestleMania episode. This is one of the hottest crowds all year, but WWE dropped the ball by giving us two throwaway matches instead. I guess you could say the same about Monday's Raw, which featured a less-than-stellar tag team main event. But back to this show, neither match is worth checking out. Mahal vs. Jose was bland at best, while Heavy Machinery vs. Ascension was equally forgettable. Main Event continues to be a massive waste of time.
