Rhyno def. Curt Hawkins
Rhyno and Hawkins have had a handful of matches against each other in the past, so while this was nothing new, I enjoyed it for what it was. It wasn't just another basic bout, though, as they incorporated a few entertaining antics with Hawkins mocking Rhyno and pretending to lay down for him. Hawkins is such the perfect jobber, and fans still rally behind Rhyno and Heath Slater even though they're an undercard act.
Mustafa Ali def. TJP
TJP has always been an excellent wrestler, but he has had a much more compelling character since his return to TV a few weeks ago because of his recent losing streak. Thus, I really liked the match he had with Ali here because he acted cocky and took his sweet time at certain points, which ultimately cost him the victory. Even better, they were given an ample amount of time to work with and they made the most of it, producing a fun little match that was more memorable than most of what I tend to see on 205 Live.
The Raw and SmackDown Live recaps are rarely worth watching back and this week is no different, but I didn't mind the two matches on this edition of Main Event at all. Granted, Rhyno vs. Hawkins was what I thought it would be and featured nothing out of the ordinary, but it was fine, while Ali vs. TJP was an above-average outing by current Cruiserweight stands, so seek out that contest if you have a few minutes to spare.
