Mark Henry Interrupted Paul Heyman and Cesaro
Heyman's "My client Brock Lesnar..." shtick can get tiresome at times, but he did a fun job of switching it up a bit both on this show and on Raw this week. He hyped the match between Cesaro and Henry nicely, though the actual confrontation between Cesaro and Henry felt like fell flat. However, it was necessary that Henry got the upper hand in this segment given that he has zero momentum at the moment.
Damien Sandow def. R-Truth
It's bad enough when Sandow is relegated to being an enhancement talent, but he loses even when he wins when he has to dress up like a comedy character for no good reason. Yes, it was fitting with where the show took place (England), but the crowd wasn't very receptive towards it and Truth was a terrible foil for it. How this match got as much time as it did is absolutely beyond me. It wasn't bad, don't get me wrong, but it was decent at best and simply painfully boring. I couldn't even pay attention to the action with what Sandow was wearing and how ridiculous it was.
Naomi def. Aksana
The commentators made mention of the fact that this was the first time Naomi and Aksana have faced off in singles action since Naomi returned from her eye injury. So, why did it take two months to get to this point? I'm not saying these two could have had a good feud (maybe they could have, who knows), but they could have at least blown off the storyline shortly after Naomi's return. It was fine matchup that lasted only a few minutes. That would have been passable for any other Divas match, but not one that actually had a story behind it.
Cesaro vs. Mark Henry in an Arm Wrestling Contest Went to a No Contest
Arm wrestling contests are usually a train wreck, but I actually like the idea of two of WWE's strongest competitors having one against each other. The only issue was that this wasn't much of an arm wrestling contest at all and it ended in a weak visual with Cesaro pushing the commentary table over Henry. The least he could have done was put Henry through the table to make this segment worthwhile. I'm not saying I was looking forward to their match, but it would have been better than what we got instead.
WWE has done an excellent job of making Main Event feel relevant again since bringing it over to the WWE Network, but this was definitely one of the worst shows they've produced in recent memory. Even when the show is forgettable, there's at least one match worth watching, bu that wasn't the case here. Even the England crowd, which is usually hot, was dead for almost all of the show, and I don't blame in the slightest. They weren't given anything to get excited about and everything that was featured nearly bored me to tears.
