The Street Profits def. Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss
These two teams already had a match a few weeks back on NXT TV and it was decent, but it was too short to be anything of note. They definitely received more time for this encounter, and while it was a largely formulaic affair, The Street Profits are an over act and the audience was engaged in the action. Sabbatelli and Moss are definitely two top prospects to watch out for, but I wonder when they will be featured more prominently instead of constantly being fed to the bigger stars.
Kairi Sane def. Peyton Royce
Royce has finally begun to build momentum recently, so I hate to see her used as a stepping stone for Sane so soon after TakeOver: WarGames. That said, this was a competitive contest and both women came away from it looking good. I was glad that Billie Kay's interference from ringside was kept to a minimum and the focus was fully on Sane and Royce. I'm curious what both women will do next if they don't immediately re-enter the NXT Women's Championship picture.
Tyler Bate and Trent Seven def. WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne and Mark Andrews
Heel Dunne having a babyface Andrews as his partner was certainly strange, but Andrews offered an explanation before the bout in a backstage segment saying that if he and Dunne won, he would get the first crack at the WWE United Kingdom Championship. The match itself, as expected, was a ton of fun and these U.K. guys continue to work wonderfully together. As I've pointed out in the past, I wish they were more of a staple on NXT or just on WWE TV in general, but I'll take whatever we can get of them for now.
Obviously, this show did not emanate from Full Sail University. Rather, these matches took place at the San Antonio house show from the night before TakeOver: WarGames. That's because NXT TV is being taped as I write this and will begin airing next week (featuring the fallout from TakeOver). As for this show, it was basically filler, but the wrestling was still entertaining and the I appreciated the atmosphere because it was different from what we normally see in NXT.
