Naomi def. Summer Rae
This was the first time to my knowledge that these two have squared off in singles competition, so it felt fresh and a nice break for the series of matches Alicia Fox and Emma have been having on this program every week. Even though this match happened on Superstars, this was probably the best plug for Total Divas yet. Summer and Naomi are both good workers, so it made for a nice match and gave people an incentive to tune into the show to see more of them outside the ring. The only thing that bothered me about this bout was the fact that Layla and Summer are seemingly still together. I thought they were supposed to be babyfaces? Then again, I couldn't care less.
Justin Gabriel def. Sin Cara
As is always the case with this show, we received a rematch of a match we saw only one week ago when it didn't really need a follow-up. That said, I didn't mind it much since they had a surprisingly solid match last week and this was another fun encounter between them. They work well together and I wouldn't be opposed to a rubber match at some point (though they'll probably give it away next week). Gabriel didn't act overtly heel this week, but I was glad to see him pick up a rare win.
This edition of Superstars was definitely more tolerable than most since the two featured matches were both fairly good, making for an enjoyable hour. Monday's Raw was also entertaining in my opinion, so the Raw recaps on this show (especially the Steel Cage match between Bray Wyatt and Chris Jericho) weren't half-bad, either.
