Humberto Carrillo def. Angel GarzaCarrillo and Garza are legitimately cousins, which would explain why their in-ring chemistry is so strong. Garza has appeared on 205 Live once before in the Captain's Challenge a few weeks ago and killed it once again here. I'd have no problem with him becoming a full-time member of the Cruiserweight division at some point if NXT doesn't have anything for him creatively. They put together a very fun outing and had the crowd with them by the end. There was no mention of Carrillo earning himself another shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship with this win, but I assume that's where he's headed. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch def. WWE Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak and Tony NeseLorcan has been on 205 Live since the start of 2019 and only now is he bringing in his partner from NXT Danny Burch to help him out. I guess the story never called for it until now, and in this case, he was outnumbered by Gulak and Nese, so this match made sense. This was a vast improvement over Lorcan vs. Nese from last week as the action was entertaining, all four guys worked well together, and the crowd came alive at certain points. Burch pinned Nese for the victory, so here's hoping we see more of him on 205 Live in the future.

Erick Rowan def. Daniel BryanBryan was back in babyface mode for the first time in nearly a year here, and it was glorious. While I think it's too early for him to revert back to his "Yes!" shtick, there's no denying that the crowd is always ready to rally behind him. Rowan is far from a master technician in the ring, but he held his own here and Bryan got the best bout he could out of him. They worked the perfect pace and Bryan was protected in defeat via Luke Harper's interference. Rowan picked up the huge victory, but Bryan and Roman Reigns stood tall afterward. This was really well done all around and made for a great start to the show. Michael Cole Interviewed WWE Champion Kofi KingstonI appreciate how Kingston always comes across as genuine in these types of interviews. He spoke about how he's thrived thus far as WWE Champion and how he isn't afraid of Brock Lesnar heading into their championship clash next Friday on FOX. Now the key is for him to walk into that match with actual intensity. By that I mean, it'd be a massive mistake for him to be his usual happy-go-lucky self and throw pancakes out to the card.
Titus O'Neil and Heath Slater def. Eric Young and Mojo RawleySlater Gator are back at it again, reuniting for another meaningless match for two Superstars fans couldn't care less about. Seriously, this was almost embarrassing to watch, and you could tell everybody but O'Neil (who does a lot of charity work for WWE) didn't want to be there. This bout was as basic and as lifeless as it gets with the babyfaces predictably going over. Cesaro def. Zack RyderCesaro is basically wearing pants now for his gear. Either that or he was asked to wrestle while he was in catering and had to rush to the ring. I was pleasantly surprised by how competitive this was, so props to Cesaro and Ryder for putting together a nice little match. Of course, the outcome was never in doubt, but Cesaro having to cheat to beat Ryder of all people made no sense. Cesaro needs this Draft in the worst way, and honestly, he might be better off in NXT or NXT UK at this point.
Braun Strowman Confronted Universal Champion Seth RollinsI'm not a fan of the Universal Champion kicking off the show with a promo every single week, but this segment served to set up the night's main event between Rollins and Strowman. Yes, we did already see it at Clash of Champions (where Rollins won clean), but to WWE's credit, they planted a line in Rollins' promo last week about this being a possibility, so they likely knew even then that this was their scheduled main event for this show. It was a solid segment and both men played their roles well. The Viking Raiders def. The O.C.Viking Raiders and The O.C. have been at odds for the past two weeks and have waged war in a few multi-man matches, so it only made sense for them to finally have a standard tag team match here. The crowd didn't care at first, but they slowly but surely got invested in the action and popped for the finish. I liked the hard-hitting style of this bout and the pace they worked. I'm glad Viking Raiders are being kept strong and are gradually getting over as babyfaces.
